Mwanakwetu spoke with a cadre of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) about several issues. However, the main topic on the table was Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, and his unwavering stance.

 

This colleague began by saying:

“They have their own agenda. They do not realize that he stands firmly on the agenda of patriotism and nationalism first.

What confuses them is only what they see; they do not understand that a person’s heart is like a bush.

 

The second thing they fail to understand is that Dr. Nchimbi is a very right person — but not right for them, not right for their agenda. Those with their own agendas have confused themselves, thinking they can do to him what they managed to do to Dr. Philip Mpango, his predecessor. Here, they have failed completely.”

 

Mwanakwetu responded that, at present, Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi has a large group of people who agree with his stance.

 

For someone who is not careful, they may find themselves struggling to understand: Who is Dr. Nchimbi communicating with? Who is he talking to, and about what? Who is behind all this?

 

These questions are pointless if one chooses to pursue them. Even investigating his phone communications would still be a waste of time.

His public emergence is a sign of great wisdom. It appears he has realized this and has now chosen to make his position clear.

 

It is as if he is telling his opponents who call him “Judas”:

“My position is not something you should search for with a torch — it is clear. Stop looking for it with a spotlight. A New Constitution is the talk of the town.”

Mwanakwetu added — they are sulking, foaming with anger, sweating heavily; no perfume or incense can hide it.

 

The Mwanakwetu continued:

 

“If you want to know that Dr. Nchimbi’s stance is supported by many, look at the statements of Judge Joseph Warioba and Dr. Anna Tibaijuka. See what Bishop Dr. Bagonza says. Read the writings of Bishop Emmaus Bandakile Mwamakulya. Listen to Maria Sarungi. Even Mange Kimambi — what is she saying? Read opinions online, and also listen to voices in the streets and villages — the answer is there.

 

If you are not careful, you might think this group meets somewhere secretly. But the truth is, they do not meet — their ideas simply align in a remarkable way.”

Mwanakwetu told this colleague that this situation is surprising, especially considering that even Humphrey Polepole once openly opposed Dr. Nchimbi, yet Dr. Nchimbi now presents a completely different image as a seasoned Tanzanian politician.

 

He added a biblical example, saying the situation resembles that of Jesus and His disciples:
Acts 4:13

“When they saw the courage of Peter and John, they realized that they had been with Jesus.”

 

This shows that the disciples were recognized because they resembled Jesus — in courage, speech, and actions.
That is the situation now in Tanzania.

 

Later, Mwanakwetu parted ways with the colleague and decided to write down these thoughts as they were.

 

While alone, he said to himself:

 

“Initially, those who spoke were seen like ‘monkeys’ talking — they were despised and considered meaningless. Some CCM members looked down on them. But now things have changed — what they once dismissed now hurts them; they are close to despair, overwhelmed, with nowhere to hide.

 

The big monkey has come out of the forest — now he is in the open, speaking clearly.”

 

In short, among current CCM leaders with significant influence, Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi appears to be at the forefront.

He is among the few members who have attended many CCM National Executive Committee meetings more than most. When he speaks — who can respond with equal weight? Who can come forward publicly with such courage? Those who try to bark are merely opportunists — they have no arguments, no answers.

 

Mwanakwetu agrees with the idea of a New Constitution as emphasized by Dr. Nchimbi. However, he believes that before anything else, justice must be served to those who have been wronged, so that the nation can enter the process of a New Constitution having healed its wounds.

 

What does Mwanakwetu say today?

 

First, the issue of Dr. Nchimbi’s security

Dr. Nchimbi’s clear and unwavering stance on national matters requires a high level of protection, as he appears to be a leader carrying the hopes of many citizens. In an environment of strong political opposition, both domestically and internationally, it is important to ensure the safety of his ideas, his political position, and even his personal security, so that he is not affected by pressure or threats that could weaken his ability to perform his national duties.

 

Second, the issue of justice

Before the nation fully enters the process of a New Constitution, justice for those who have been wronged is a fundamental matter that cannot be ignored. Mwanakwetu clearly shows that there are social and political wounds that must be addressed first. When justice is served, it will lay the foundation for reconciliation and national unity, making the New Constitution process fair, inclusive, and widely accepted. A New Constitution does not belong to leaders, nor to CCM, nor to a manifesto, nor to the opposition — it belongs to all Tanzanians.

 

Third, the issue of a New Constitution

Dr. Nchimbi’s stance on the New Constitution appears to be a key national agenda that must be prioritized. A New Constitution should strengthen democracy, protect citizens’ rights, and establish a solid foundation for good governance. His statement that the New Constitution is “the talk of the town” highlights its importance in bringing the positive changes the country needs.

Fourth, the issue of those opposing Dr. Nchimbi

Those opposing Dr. Nchimbi appear confused due to the difference between their agendas and his stance on patriotism and nationalism. Their opposition is not based on strong arguments but rather on personal or group interests. This is evident, as many of them lack substantive responses to his points and instead resort to baseless attacks, which further strengthens his position in the eyes of the public.
