Eh eh… listen now…
The coast speaks… this truth…
Oh my son Gershon,
Former broadcaster of SHIUTA, the one feeding the devil,
The Chair is Losing Weight, Chair losing weight,
You are feeding spirits, your people are suffering,
The Chair is Losing Weight, Chair losing weight, truly it devours.
Oh my son Gershon,
Former broadcaster of SHIUTA, wake up and see now,
Where is justice? People are crying,
Do not fatten the devil with other people’s wealth,
The Chair is Losing Weight, Chair losing weight.
On the coast of East Africa,
traditions have spread,
Rituals in the dark, voices are heard,
In caves and big trees, or hidden rooms,
There is a strange chair, decorated in secrecy.
Voices come from there, giving
commands,
“Bring a red chicken, and a black goat too,”
People believe and follow without question,
But they don’t realize they are losing their way.
Oh my son Gershon,
Former broadcaster of SHIUTA, the one feeding the devil,
The Chair is Losing Weight, Chair losing weight,
You are feeding spirits, your people are suffering,
Chair losing weight, truly it devours.
The Swahili once said, with ancient
wisdom,
“You are fattening the devil, the chair grows thin,”
Meaning wealth is taken through unjust ways,
And in your home, hunger increases.
Children are crying, families are
suffering,
Others are seeking help in the darkness,
Instead of light, they become more lost,
This is not the right path—return to the truth.
Oh my son Gershon,
Former broadcaster of SHIUTA, the one feeding the devil,
The Chair is Losing Weight, Chair losing weight
You are feeding spirits, your people are suffering,
The anaconda chair, truly it devours.
Wake up, my brother, look at your
life,
Do not give offerings to darkness without benefit,
Respect begins at home, with those close to you,
Not with secret voices that have no light.
Seek the path of justice, clear in
the daylight,
Do not rush into darkness for false promises,
For its end is regret and pain,
Return to the light, and you will find peace.
Chair losing Weight… (eeh eeh)
Chair Losing Weight… (eeh eeh)
Do not feed the devil…
Return to the light…
On the evening of June 28, 2026, MwAnAkWeTu listened to the SWAHILI song Kiti Anakonda(The Chair is Losing Weght), composed in Mbagala, which talks about a character named Gershoni and his chaotic lifestyle.
The concept used revolves around the journeys of this character going to Satan and offering various animal sacrifices such as chickens, goats, and other animals of different colors. Fortunately, the composer did not mention whether humans are also offered as sacrifices there.
This idea is built within the setting of a traditional healer’s place, where there is a well-decorated chair. Then, a voice believed to come from Satan gives several instructions:
“Bring a white goat, bring a chicken of this and that color, bring a female camel, bring a black ram.”
Ahh, Satan—congratulations for demanding such rich offerings!
These are scenes of superstition within the context of the lives of the Swahili people and those of East Africa.
The composer of this song tells his son, Gershoni:
“Why are you only benefiting Satan while the Chair gets nothing?”
If the work is being done by both Satan and the Chair, then both should benefit from this act of superstition.
The composer appears to feel sympathy for the Chair, and also for his son Gershoni, who is wasting his resources and energy to benefit Satan.
For the benefit of MwAnAkWeTu’s readers, today he has decided to present this song so that they may read it.
So, my reader, what have you learned?
Remember:
“The Chair is Losing Weight.”
Wishing you a nice day.
