Residents of Mara Region are eagerly awaiting the official visit of Tanzania’s Prime Minister, Hon. Mwigulu Nchemba (MP), scheduled from July 1–5, 2026.
Locals across Serengeti, Bunda, Tarime, and Butiama have expressed excitement, saying the visit offers a rare opportunity to see the Prime Minister and share their views with the government.
According to Regional Commissioner Colonel Evans Alfred Mtambi, the tour will include inspection, launching, and foundation-laying for seven development projects worth over TZS 52.9 billion.
The Prime Minister’s itinerary covers Serengeti, Tarime, Rorya, Butiama, Musoma, and Bunda districts, where he will also hold multiple public rallies.
This marks his first visit to Mara since his appointment following the October 2026 General Election, making him the second Prime Minister to tour the region since 2024, after his predecessor, Hon. Kassim Majaliwa.
