My dear
kinsman, I stand and think with care,
Mbungi and Mganda both pull at my heart’s share.
Each one holds a beauty, a charm from deep inside,
I ask myself quickly—which path should I decide?
Mbungi beats with joy, its rhythm
loud and strong,
It draws so many people with dance and vibrant song.
Full of cheers and laughter, it brightens every place,
If I were to choose it, I’d bring delight to many a face.
Mganda, though quieter, carries
meaning profound,
It teaches noble customs and roots where we are bound.
Not loud in its nature, but rich in wisdom’s claim,
It fills the whole community with pride in its name.
Within my heart I ponder—what choice
is truly right?
Mbungi’s joy is mighty, yet fades away from sight.
Mganda holds the weight of culture and respect,
I see the better pathway—not driven by impulse or effect.
At last I have my answer, without
fear or delay,
Mganda is the choice—for lasting good each day.
I will begin it early, with knowledge and with zeal,
My kinsman, I am grateful—I chose with thought and will.
