Adeladius Makwega – Mara
“When you identify that Project A in your district has challenges, you should resolve them properly and decisively—not apply cosmetic fixes or avoid it. I want the Mara Region to clearly understand our projects, identify their weaknesses, and address them in a timely and effective manner. This is our responsibility so that when the Uhuru Torch arrives, it finds the progress we’ve made—and if there are still weaknesses, the Torch will expose and ‘burn away’ those weaknesses.”
These were instructions from the Regional Commissioner of Mara, Honorable Colonel Evans Alfred Mtambi, on April 30, 2026, in Musoma Town during a regional meeting to prepare for receiving the Uhuru Torch.
Continuing his emphasis during the meeting, Colonel Mtambi said:
“My fellow leaders, I know there has been a tendency to avoid projects with weaknesses and instead present only those that are in good condition. In some areas, weak projects are abandoned and replaced with new ones that appear flawless. But all these are citizens’ projects—their weaknesses must be identified and resolved immediately so that every project performs well.”
Colonel Mtambi gave each district an opportunity to present a report on preparations for receiving the Uhuru Torch, and each district indicated that preparations are progressing at a high level.
While leading the meeting, Colonel Mtambi also commended district commissioners in the Mara Region for continuing to perform their duties professionally, working in collaboration with directors, heads of public institutions, staff, and the citizens of the region.
The meeting was attended by various leaders from security and defense organs in the Mara Region. The meeting secretary was the Regional Administrative Secretary, Mr. Gerald Musabila Kusaya, who read out the agenda items from start to finish.
Earlier, while presenting the schedule for the Uhuru Torch in the Mara Region, the 2026 Uhuru Torch Coordinator for the region, Mr. Fidel Balagaye, stated:
“The Uhuru Torch is expected to be run in the Mara Region for nine days starting August 1, 2026, and will be handed over to Mwanza Region on August 10, 2026.”
Meanwhile, in Musoma, the weather conditions are as follows: temperature is 27°C, humidity is 0%, chance of rain is 63%, and wind speed is 8 km/h.
Are you still with us? Remember:
“Leaders should not avoid weak projects in preparations for receiving the Uhuru Torch.”
Have a nice day.
