We Have Started Preparations for the Budget Retreat

Adeladius Makwega

“At the moment we are carrying out preliminary preparations for the Budget Sessions for the 2026–2027 financial year, but currently preparations are underway for this Budget Retreat. First, in order to reach that stage, we are reviewing how we have implemented the budget that is coming to an end, namely the 2025/2026 budget… and then later we will move on to the 2026/2027 budget.”

It is the morning of February 9, 2026. Mwanakwetu visits the Office of the Head of the Planning and Coordination Section in the Office of the Regional Commissioner of Mara, Mr. Emmanuel P. Mazengo, who explains the work they are currently undertaking:

“In order to ensure the availability of good information on implementation, we have gathered here together with all officers from the Planning Division, Loan Coordinators, and Treasurers from all nine councils: Bunda Rural, Bunda Town, Tarime Rural, Tarime Town, Musoma Municipal, Musoma Rural, Tarime Town, Tarime Rural, Butiama, and Rorya, so as to put everything in order. This work will be completed over the course of an entire week.

As about three dozen professionals, we will certainly come up with solid information that can serve as a model.”

Mr. Mazengo emphasized.

When Mwanakwetu left this Planning and Coordination Office, along the corridors of this public institution, several government activities were observed continuing as usual, especially within the Office of the Regional Commissioner of Mara. The Regional Administrative Secretary of Mara, Mr. Gerald Musabila Kusaya, a teacher by profession, was seen taking part in various meetings throughout the day, moving from place to place, and engaging with staff and several visitors who came to his office.

One of the visitors recorded in the visitors’ book for that day was Donald Bwire Masatu from the non-governmental organization Gender and Public Health Organization (GPO).

As these activities were taking place here in Musoma Town at the Office of the Regional Commissioner of Mara, the weather conditions in Musoma were as follows: temperature 24°C, humidity 50%, chance of rain 76%, and wind blowing at 8 km per hour.

Mwanakwetu, are you there?

Remember:

“We have started preparations for the Budget Retreat.”

I wish you a good day.
